INTRO, Y'ALL.

Astrid Young, 18
hometown; New York, NY
current city; Santorini, Greece
likes; The smell of bubblegum, bright colors, eccentric clothing, kids, "field trips", gangster rap, anything sparkly, smoothies, making people laugh, being weird, and talking (and never stopping).
dislikes; Uptight people, coffee, anything bland, know-it-alls, being lazy, and perfect hair.
Astrid is, like most people say, perma-stoned. She's truly the definition of "high off life." From a young age, little Astrid has always loved roaming around and trying new things. This free-spirited quality never quite actually left her. Naturally an adventurer, she liked going on little "field trips" around the city with her mom. Little did she know that those little field trips with mommy could turn into an actual trip abroad. At fifteen, Astrid flew to Greece with her mom... and she fell in love. The culture, the language, the people... everything. The fresh and chill atmosphere fit her personality to a tee. And that's when she knew she wanted to live in Greece somewhere in the near future. She started learning the language ferociously and trying all of the Greek cafes/restaurants she could find in New York City. Soon, her greek skills became quite superior. Not perfect, but good for a beginner. And that's exactly how she became an Au Pair. She said bye-bye to Juilliard (temporarily), packed her bags, kissed her worried Mom goodbye, hopped on the plane to Santorini and never looked back.
dating status; single... but /might/ be crushing on a guy who already has a girlfriend.

the family:

tony galanos, 36
tony moved to the windy city of chicago from greece at the young age of twelve to live with his american mother and her boyfriend. they have never met before, but his father always told him stories and such. he left his luxe home in santorini and moved into his mom's quaint two bedroom apartment because he couldn't deal with his father's feisty and temperamental personality... along with his drinking problem. tony went on to becoming a successful writer after graduating from yale university. his mother died of a car accident shortly after his first book went on the NY times best selling authors list. he dedicated his second book to her. one tuesday afternoon, tony got a call from his dad, who has lung cancer, telling him he only has a month left to live. tony immediately cancelled everything in his planner and flew to santorini with adrian, his eight year old son.

adrian galanos, 8
don't let his sweet face fool you; this little rascal is everything but sweet. the word 'difficult' describes him in a nutshell. although hard to deal with, adrian is an eight year old genius. he's also very quick on his feet and can solve a rubiks cube in less than 45 seconds. adrian's mother fled after giving birth to him, which is the main cause of adrian's somewhat arrogant attitude. although he always shows that side of him, you can tell he's very vulnerable and still emotionally bruised from his mother leaving.

philippos galanos, 72
born into an extremely wealthy family of doctors and lawyers, philippos never had to work a day in his life. his mother was a beautiful singer whose name everyone knew in Greece, and possibly even beyond. his father was a surgeon, and the two had met in college. they were inseparable -- and then she died of a sudden heart attack. philippos' father took his anger out by drinking large amounts of alcohol, and ultimately committed suicide when philippos was sixteen. he moved in with his aunt and uncle in athens, who spoiled him and granted his every wish. when philippos turned 21, he dropped out of college and moved to new york, where he met julia, tony's mother. julia was a college student working at a diner. beautiful and extremely smart, philippos fell in love almost immediately. they started an unhealthy relationship, fighting daily. philippos yelled at julia in broken english, beating her constantly. they ended their relationship when tony was born, philippos taking him and moving back to greece, realizing it was the best thing to do as he has a house in santorini and a bank account that holds more than enough money. he offered julia to come and live with him in greece, but she denied; she had too many things going for her to just run away and raise a child with a man she barely even loved. philippos ended up in santorini with a depressed state of mind, raising tony alone and creating a drinking problem, which ultimately led to tony moving in with julia in chicago. although his relationship with tony isn't the best, philippos knows that he needs to show the love he once lacked to his one and only son in the remaining time he has left.

the locals up later, heh.

This video of Elsa kind of inspired me for the character. She looks gorg in it. Free People always makes such creative, dreamy looking vids, man. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uru7wNyBXPg

(IN CHARACTER)
- What was your life like back home?
It was everything I needed it to be. My mom never once spoiled or mistreated me. I mean, we lived in a spacious loft in Manhattan and she sent me to private schools all my life but she never once boasted or took advantage of it, you know? And this is exactly why my mother and I have such a tight relationship. We respect each other. We understand each other. It's really, truly special. She's everything to me. Ooh, before I forget -- Juilliard is pretty much like my second home.. so I should probably talk about that. I'm a music nerd. Heh. My roommate's this kid named Petal Lilac Mills. PETAL. I know. That shit cray. (Jay-Z/Kanye reference, y'all.) I call her Pet for short.. heh, it's actually kinda cute. Yeaaaah. Anyways. Juilliard's a sick school. The professors really know what they're doing; they make the classes really fun while /actually/ teaching you a thing or two. AND OH MY GOD. Some of the talent you'd find here is unbelievable. Intimidating, almost. And jeesh, some of the kids are so competitive, it's scary. Okay, now I'm rambling. Heeheeeee. Sorry. But yeah, my life in New York is all gooood, not perfect, but who's life is?
- Why did you apply to be an au pair?
I applied to be an Au Pair because I wanted to try something new with my life while learning and growing in the process. I know that sounds pretty forced and script-y but I swear it's truly the reason why. I absolutely looove the Greek culture, and I'm good with kids, so I thought, why not? I mean, I'm a little clumsy... and I always seem to be saying the wrong things at the wrong time, but.. I'm friendly and outgoing and all that jazz. I was actually shocked when they accepted me out of the bunch, but of course I was super stoked. I don't regret my decision ONE. BIT.
{OUT OF CHARACTER}
- Will you be able to keep up with the set requirement?
I most likely will, and if not, I promise I'd have a valid excuse... and not just because I "didn't feel like it."
- What do you think you can bring to the table?
Kind of a comedic twist to the common 'spacey' character, hehe, and an interesting storyline, I hope.

HI. I HATE THE FIFTY ITEM LIMIT.

wow. i haven't made a set in /forever/.

my lappytoppy was acting all weird this past month so i've only had time to use my mom's here and there. and right now is one of them. so i am literally cherishing every single minute.

I'M LOVING YELLOW SO MUCH RIGHT NOW. It's crazy.

yeah.

I really want to go to New York. Really, really badly.

Name: Kaya Oliveira
Age: 18
Personality Traits: honest (a little /too/ much), enigmatic, strong-willed, carefree.
Model/Portrayed By: Andreea Diaconu
Bio: Growing up as the only girl in a family of all guys, Kaya is definitely a force to be reckoned with. At first glance, most people come up with the conclusion that Kaya's just a typical, feminine girly girl who can't get the slightest bit of dirt in her precious little fingernails. But she's /far/ from that. Kaya can trek up that scary looking mountain that you once saw on TV, bungee jump without any hesitation, and scarf down not three, but /four/ big burritos in one sitting. Kaya has an easy-going attitude and a distinct laugh that will just stick with you. She does have an annoyingly stubborn side to her, though. And oftentimes a little blunt. She'll be the one to tell you that you look "a little chubs" when you want an "honest" opinion. But that's also a part of her charm. And although she doesn't like to admit it, she's very innocent and doesn't have a lot of experience with the males. Her dad and two older brothers were the only males in her life that she has truly loved. That's part of the reason why she decided to join The Bachelor; although she's clueless and kind of apprehensive as to the whole "dating" thing, she decided to have some fun while she's doing it.

oh my god.

okay, so, the day before yesterday, i was going to publish this set. once i was done with the set, i went on to the story. i was literally two sentences away from being done with my story, and then, of course, my laptop shuts off on me. i was /so/ mad, like i probably had fumes coming out of my nose. and then, to top it all of, i didn't even save the set as a draft, so i had to do it aallll over again. i'm not even gonna bother with the story as it was /way/ too long and detailed to rewrite all over again. sorry, guys.

to summarize what had happened:
basically, summer meets piper, her roommate, and piper seems to be down in the gutter so summer tries cheering her up, etc. etc. piper teaches summer how to put on makeup (hahaha, summer's a kiddo). at the orientation party, summer meets phillipa, who happens to be oh-so-chic with her fancy dress and shiny hair and whatnot. phillipa doesn't look too happy when summer touches her hair in awe, but compliments her necklace anyway, saying it's "definitely interesting." and theeen summer also befriends gloria, this super bad.ass (when drunk) russian chick. although gloria doesn't seem to like summer all /that/ much, she still sits and listens to summer yap on and on about pretty much everything (because glo's nice, duh). teeeehee. um, where was i? oh, right. and then summer meets courtney, who's like suuuper gorgeous looking with supermodel-esque legs... who also happens to be really sweet. and theeeen court and summah help drunk glo up from a catfight. oh, and she meets a boy. THE END.

comment on what relationship summer + your character has/will/should have, please!

summer's really chirpy and naive, so yeah.

OH, AND COMMENT IF YOU WANT IN ON MY NEXT STORY. I don't wanna just include random characters, ya know what I mean?

okay, i've tortured you guys enough. i shall end this here. :)

summer paige riley (16)
junior
hometown. beverly hills, california
icon. meg ryan
likes. fruity things, white furniture, ukuleles, her dad, immaturity, chapstick, laughing, her long hair.
dislikes. negativity, coffee, extremely cold weather, cakey makeup, anything bitter, math, things that are too trendy, club music.
just like her name, summer is bright, loving, and always a bundle of fun. some say she's a bit childish, and most of the time a klutz, but she's got a big heart. after the death of her mother three years ago, summer has been in a rut, but her optimistic nature always tells her that everything's going to be alright, even if the darkest little part of her tells her it's not. summer's father is the only person who truly knows exactly how she feels, thus strengthening the already perfect father-daughter relationship they've always had. it was summer's choice to come to lunaris, mostly because she wanted to spend her last two years of high school in a whole new environment; both to get ready for college and to try living without her dad, a well-respected lawyer in the west coast, who always gives her everything she wants, and taking time out of his already busy schedule to take care of her. summer, although sometimes unaware of her surroundings and the misfortune of others, generally is good-natured and will do anything to help and aid the less fortunate. some people think summer always puts on an act; acting chirpy and ditzy, batting her eyelashes with the innocence of a newborn baby, but the truth is, she's not. summer is legitimately the most innocent and childlike sixteen-year-old you'll ever meet. but that doesn't mean she's always the happy, optimistic girl she makes herself out to be.

THE REST UP LATER. PROMISE!
Baby you light up my world like nobody else.
FIRST SET OF THE YEAR! WOOH! Happy 2012, everyone. :) Hope this year will be filled with joy and peacefulness for everyone. 2012 just sounds so futuristic, though. I can't take it seriously.

SATURDAY 31ST: For New Year's Eve, DJs will be spinning all night at the pub, which is reserved for staff only after 9pm. At midnight, head up to the mountain to watch the fireworks display (and find your new year's kiss).

"Try not to break anything this time," Marshall, one of the older workers at Starbucks, warned as he gave me his "eagle" eye.

"That was a serious mistake, it won't happen again." I reassured him, giving him my sweetest smile.

"You're lucky you're cute, or else you'd be in way more trouble," He smirked, then got back to work.

"Don't worry, stuff breaks all the time. He's just making a big deal out of it to scare you off," Anna said, mixing a latte.

"That's a relief," I smiled.

"Thanks."

I met Anna on my first day as a barista. She was like my mentor, and she has been my favorite person ever since.

"No problem, newbie." Anna smiled, petting my head.

The pub was as lively as ever. The DJs mixing catchy pop/dance tunes and everyone buzzed to their drink or the cute guy/girl next to them.

"Hey, Tabby. You're lookin' cute," Chandler came my way, her effortlessly cool blonde hair and sun-kissed skin catching the attention of all the males.

"Thanks, I --" I began to say.

"Come on, Conway, let's go," A very tall and gorgeous looking girl said, grabbing Chandler by the arm.

"Oh, wait! Have you guys met each other?" Chandler asked, looking back and forth at the two of us.

"Hi, I'm Mara, I don't think we've officially met," Mara said with a big grin.

"Hi, I'm Tabby, it's great to meet you," I smiled.

"Yeah, uh-huh. It's great to meet you, too. Cute heels, let's go for brunch sometime?" Mara said sarcastically in a fake sing-songy voice, rolling her eyes.

"Uh... sure?" I tried.

"Mara," Chandler shot her a disappointed look.

Mara shrugged.

"Ohhh-kay, well, we should probably get going.. but.. we'll see you up at the mountain later, kay?" Chandler said, giving me a warm hug before she left with Mara.

I turned around, speechless at what just happened. Never have I ever met anyone so... outspoken? cold?

Whatever the word may be, I just really needed a drink.

"Wow, that was quite a show." A girl said, handing me a shot of vodka, then taking it back.

"Wait, you're definitely not over at least 18." She said, raising her left eyebrow.

"Ah, what the hell, you deserve it." She smiled, and handed me the shot.

"Thanks," I laughed.

"I'm Maggie, you?" She gave me her hand to shake.

"Tabby. I like you, Maggie." I smiled as I shook her hand.

"Aw, shucks. You're adorable." She giggled.

Maggie and I talked for a while; she was very nurturing and down to earth, and we had quite a few things in common. I was already in love with her.

Mountain. Exactly 11 minutes before the countdown.

"My idiot of a friend pushed me here so I could come talk to you." A guy said, fixing his hair away from his eyes.

"Oh.... why?" I asked.

"Because he thinks you're cute but he's too chicken to admit it." He shrugged.

"Hah!" I blushed.

"Yeah, well, if you wanna go talk to him, you should go now before he hides." He warned, and pointed me to the guy's direction.

I giggled as I looked across his direction.

The guy was cute, I guess.

I am a New Year's kiss virgin... I might as well get one tonight, I thought.

"Wait. Don't go," The guy stopped me.

I turned around, confused.

"My friend's an a.sshole and he's just trying to get in your pants. He's known for taking advantage of girls. He does this to the newbies every year. I'm telling you this because you seem like a nice girl."

"Oh, wow." I said, looking at the ground, trying not to blush.

"And, plus... you're kind of too pretty, I guess. Well for him anyway." He said, tousling his hair.

I smiled.

He thought I was pretty.

10, 9, 8, 7, 6...

The countdown was starting, my heart was beating, and my stomach had butterflies.

I was feeling too many emotions all at once.

I looked at him. He looked at me.

5, 4, 3...

And then I kissed him.

2, 1...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I could tell he was shocked at first, but then as the kiss grew deeper, he grew closer. We didn't know each others names, and we had no idea what we were doing, but it felt good.

And then the fireworks came on.

And it was magical.

First off, yes, this is an intro set.

And second:

Sorry for the late set, guys! I am very much aware that I suck. Sorry, again.

Sweet, unassuming, poetic, respectful, naive
Little Tabby is the youngest worker at the resort, and is treated like the baby by the rest of the staff, male and female. Her high, sing-songy voice and love for whimsy aren’t helping her establish a mature image, though she desperately wants to be seen as something more than the young, innocent one – the lack of respect she receives is slowly driving her towards acting out.

Hello there, my fellow workers of Northstar! I'm a newbie so it'd be great if you guys could just introduce yourselves. It doesn't even have to be in a conventional way. Par exemple: I'm Tabby. I love reading books (especially the old ones) and wearing overly-whimsical clothing!! :) Sometimes I sing.

p.s. I may be a wee bit younger than most, well, all of you, but I /am/ mature. Promise.

1) Oy! I'm Tabby. Well, Tabitha, but no one really calls me that. Only my mom when she's angry with me. I've always been the youngest one in my group of friends, and "that girl who wears pink all the time." I love writing, singing, dancing, and cooking; anything I can just pour my emotions into, really. I'm not /that/ great at cooking, but I can make a mean batch of cupcakes. If it's anyone's birthday, you should come to me, because I am the master of the sweets. *evil laugh* /Anyways/, I'm from this little old town in New York called Eastchester in the Westchester County. And to be very, very specific, a village called Bronxville. If you like greenery, red brick houses, and cold weather, Bronxville is the place to be. I'm here at Northstar mostly for the experience of working in a whole new environment, and to have fun and meet new people. The people at Sarah Lawrence can be a little snotty sometimes.

2) Wow, there are actually /too/ many things I love about working at Northstar. Hmm... Oh! I absolutely LOVE working to the fresh smell of coffee every day. It's truly the best. It makes me feel all warm inside. But it's not as easy as it looks; You get pretty jaded after a long day. The Christmas music definitely helps, though! I also like how it's such a tight-knit group; everyone's so friendly (for the most part) and /everyone/ knows each other's names. It's really awesome. And although mostly everyone's from the US, there's also the occasional foreigner! It's really cool to learn how they got here and why. And Oh my lord, the parties are /really/ fun. Like really.

Orientation. Last year.

"Hey, Tuh-bi-thuh, ready to whip up some drinks?" James, one of the shaggy-haired workers asked.

The newcomers were to get trained from the more experienced workers for about half an hour, right after all of the typical, boring orientation stuff.

"Totes-ma-gotes," I smiled.

"One passion iced tea, /sweetened/. I hope one of the workers gave you the sheet with the ingredients." He scratched his head.

"Got it. I used to make these at home all the time," I smiled just to ease all the pressure around us.

"Uh, but it's a lot different making it here, I hope you know that," He replied, looking oh-so-bored and dissatisfied.

Jeez.

"Of course," I cracked a half-smile.

James stood there watching me make one the /whole/ time. It was actually kind of nerve-racking. He literally just stood there saying absolutely nothing. Just watching me like a hawk. Wasn't he supposed to give me tips and pointers? Like, am I adding enough water, or is there too much syrup?

We were required to make at least two different types of drinks (with a helper on the side, of course) to get the hang of it.

"Next time you're doing this, you gotta do it faster, 'cause there's gonna be like, a s.hitload of impatient people in line." James warned, then flashed a "smile", showing his perfect row of white teeth.

I nodded.

Two /sort-of/ failed drinks and one /perfect/ caramel macchiato later, James gave me the "OK" and I was ready to go.

It was all learning from there.

Orientation. This year.

"Right hand side, keep your palms steady." I was finally teaching a newcomer the ways of a good barista. Finally.

Although I was still treated like a baby and a newcomer myself, I finally felt confident in what I was doing.

"Wow, this is actually /really/ fun!" The newbie said with a cackle of delight.

I smiled in relief.

"Good, I hope I'm not putting any pressure on you." I scratched my head.

"Definitely not. I'm so lucky I got you as my helper. Jeez, that James guy looks /so/ uptight." The newbie rolled her eyes.

"Right?!" I laughed.

It was so great seeing all the workers from last year come back this year. Some more than others. :)

When everything is lonely, I can be my own best friend.
Name: Charlotte Daisy Holland
Collection: coming soon.
Age: 22
"I really just want to be warm yellow light that pours over everyone I love." - Conor Oberst
Hometown: Chicago, Illinois / Venice Beach, California.
Current City: New York City
Job/School: Recently graduated from Sarah Lawrence. Currently working as an intern for Elle Magazine.
Style: Loose and flowy. Light and comfortable with an airy feel.
Bio: Growing up in a very open beach house and a loving family in the sunny side of Southern California, Charlotte is as carefree and friendly as they come. Often a little too carefree, Charlotte tends to "play now, work later," which gets her into trouble one too many times. She tends to get away with everything, though, by her natural charm and infectious smile. She's late everywhere she goes. And always forgets something along the way. She's a social butterfly and can't stay in one place for too long. Always hopping around like a little bunny. Surprisingly enough, she loves being in relationships. She's never stopped having a boyfriend since the age of twelve. Currently, she's with a guy named Will. She loves being loved and giving love. She sees the good in everyone and everything. Her favorite person in the world is her little sister, Bailey. She's the only person that Charlotte is fiercely protective of. Charlotte has this amazing intuition - she just automatically understands people. Although she's a bit naive and flighty, Charlotte will always be the first one to give you a warm hug when you need it most.
Model: Astrid Berges-Frisbey

YAYAYAYAY. I'm excited. Both my characters are really different so it's going to be fun juggling them around!
